She had never planned any of the previous pregnancies, and felt positive about her prescription despite the fact she had a little nausea. Her husband decided that he did not want anymore kids and made her start the medication. This patient stopped taking the treatment because she moved to Ohio, however for two months after her move she would travel back to receive her pills.

The first year she started taking the medication she had no side effects, however as the second year started she started to have side effects of nausea. In 1963 she got remarried and impregnated, which is when the FNS stepped in. According to the FNS’s paper work the birth control Envoid had been ineffective.

PATIENT 3

At the age of 24 this patient had three pregnancies resulting in two live births. None of these pregnancies had been planned and the patient wanted to wait 4-5 years till having her next baby. This patient stopped taking her pills because she found out she was 9 weeks pregnant before starting the pills. The pregnancy was closely monitored and the baby was born with no side effects despite it’s mother being on the medication.
